It is with great pleasure that the American Chamber of
Commerce in Austria has accepted the patronage of the
exhibition “ Illusions of Eden - Visions of the
American Heartland ” on display at Palais Liechtenstein
in Vienna.
While one of the main objectives of the American Chamber
of Commerce in Austria is to promote business relations
between the United States and Austria, the strengthening
of cultural ties between our two countries constitutes
an important means to further and deepen mutual understanding.
Therefore, the Chamber has decided to continue its artistic
focus in this direction in 2001.
In close cooperation with the Museum of Modern Art Stiftung
Ludwig in the Palais Liechtenstein, a new section of the
Chamber's monthly Newsletter was dedicated to the masterpieces
and to the artists of the exhibition, as well as a preview
of the exposition. The members of the Chamber received
detailed information on the Public Programs of the museum
and had the opportunity to attend a private viewing of
the exhibition.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Austria is proud to
be a part of this very special cultural event and hopes
to continue its support of the arts in Vienna.
The Chamber has been a patron of two other major exhibitions: "AMERICA - The New World in 19th Century Painting" at the
sterreichische Galerie Belvedere from March until June 1999 as well as "Sigmund Freud - Conflict and Culture" and "Sigmund Freud - Relations to the Unconscious / Psychoanalysis in Progress" exhibited at the Sigmund Freud Museum and in the Austrian National Library from October 1999 until February 2000.
